We started the month of October by decorating the house for Halloween. I really think Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I just love this time of year! This is also the first year that Jace has had an interest in Halloween and the whole concept behind it. For an entire week he wanted to know where the witches live and why they only come out on Halloween. Then there is the infamous Mr. Pumpkin head that he has been carrying around for the last week. It started as one of those little things you stick in a cup of water and it is supposed to grow to be 600% of its original size. Now it is his newest best friend. I will post a picture of Mr.Pumpkin head later. Until then here are a few pictures of some of our Halloween decorations that Jace helped with.
Our first night out in October was Abe's company anniversary dinner at the Royal Palms Resort. It was a wonderful evening chatting with some of Abe's co-workers and their spouses. It is always great to finally be able to put faces with names. The night was chilly but had a great time. The kids got to spend the evening hanging out with Nana and Papa. Jace loves falling asleep in his bed with Papa. (I think Papa likes it too) We had a hard time getting him out of the bed when we got home.
On the 13th we celebrated Jaden's 6 month birthday...this meant she could start eating solids!! I cheated and started feeding her rice cereal a few weeks ago. She is a porker and drinking 6 ounces every 3 hours was no longer satisfying her so I had to give in. She LOVED every bite of her rice cereal. I could not get it in her mouth fast enough. Every time I would pull the spoon out she would scream for more. Last week we started veggies and so far she loves her carrots and sweet potatoes. We decided to give bananas a try a few days ago but so far she is not a fan. She just puckers her lips and tries to spit it back out. She will probably be begging for bananas once we start the green veggies. Anything is better than peas and green beans. I honestly don't know how I am even going to feed her that nasty green stuff without wanting to puke.
Here is a little video clip of the eating experience.....
Last weekend my sister Kelly came to visit. Unfortunately we were all sick. We still got to spend some time relaxing together as a family which was nice. Jace loves spending time with his Auntie Kelly. He has been talking about her since she left on Sunday. I miss her a lot and wish we could see her more often. I am looking forward to seeing her again in a few weeks!
We have also been spending lots of time outside. Since the weather is finally starting to cool off we can get out of the house and have some fun. Jaden just loves the fresh air. She is like a different child when she is outside. And Jace of course loves playing with his best buddy next door. Berkley and Jace are inseparable at times.
I know this has been a long post but I hope to start updating on a regular basis again. I leave you with some pictures of what else...the kiddos!! Just a few cute pictures I took of them the other night while Jace was telling Jaden stories. (Ignore the food all over Jace's mouth)
Oh yeah....and a few pictures of Jaden in her pretty little outfit. I could just eat those cheeks!! :)
