My Dear Grandpa

Lost his battle to cancer on June 11, 2010 at 2:03pm. We all stood by his side and I held his hand as the angels took him to a better place, free of pain and suffering. There will never be a day that goes by where I do not think of him and what a wonderful man he was.  I can't wait to share all my memories and stories about him with Jace and Jaden some day.  I have so many wonderful memories of him from the last 30 years that will always have a special place in my heart.

I will love and miss you forever Grandpa!  You are really a true hero to me.  You never gave up and refused to give in to your cancer right up until the very end.  You just loved your family too much to leave us.  I wish I could have one more day with you so I could watch you with your great grandchildren and hear how beautiful I am even though I know I look terrible.  Your sweet words have been on replay in my head for days now. 

God saw you getting tired,

When a cure was not to be.

So He wrapped his arms around you,

and whispered, "come to me."

You didn't deserve what you went through,

So He gave you rest.

God's garden must be beautiful,

He only takes the best

And when I saw you sleeping,

So peaceful and free from pain

I could not wish you back

To suffer that again.
